Safe Place for Women

On 3 March PES Women, together with the PES Group in the European Committee of the Regions, launched the campaign “Safe Place for Women”.

Over half of women in the European Union have experienced sexual harassment and one in three women has been a victim of physical and/or sexual violence. This is unacceptable and we must act now! 

This is why we are joining this campaign where municipalities, cities and regions can declare themselves as a #SafePlace4Women. This includes the commitment of progressive local and regional leaders to translate the principle of zero-tolerance to violence against women into concrete actions.
