About us

Promoting gender equality and women’s rights

PES Women promotes gender equality and women’s representation. We fight for equal pay, to end viol

🌍 On this #InternationalDayofTheGirlChild, we reaffirm our commitment to every girl’s rights worldwide, striving for a future of equality, free from discrimination, violence, and harmful practices.Sadly, many girls and adolescents still fight daily for their fundamental rights and for equality. They are disproportionately affected by global crises, including climate change, conflict, and inequality. Discrimination and negative gender stereotypes also undermine their potential, leaving them nearly twice as likely as boys to miss out on education. Child marriage remains widespread, with about one in five young women married before age 18 (UNICEF, 2024).Being a girl should never limit them from doing what they want or becoming who they aspire to be. We want a society where girls are empowered to reach their full potential. This is the only way to achieve true justice. ⚖️ See MoreSee Less

🌹PES Women Vice President @rosariogamboa4 and PES Women Coordinator Ana Pirtskhalava has been to Chile to participate at Progressive Alliance Global Convention. ➡️At the Convention, we participated to strategic discussions with the leaders of our political movement from around the world on the most consequential issues of our time: protecting democracy, fostering economic and social progress, solving climate change, securing peace, and promoting gender equality. 🙋🏻‍♀️Apart from other important decisions we welcome that Progressive Alliance adopted proposed Gender Equality Action Plan to ensure more equal and feminist representation. ✊We also congratulate PA’s leadership and coordinator Machris Cabreros on her re-election and wish her the successful mandate ahead!
